The vision of a Parklands Baptist Church branch on Eastgate was born in 1997 when a team of three servants of God led by the Holy Spirit, namely Pastor Ambrose, Pastor Simon and Jack Yates went for a drive along Mombasa Road. As they were driving they saw the need of having a Gateway Church that would cover entry points on the Northern Corridor starting from the Port of Mombasa, Namanga, Nairobi and JKIA. Right there and then a Vision was born!

PBC then began to conduct surveys to establish a location where the branch church would be located. After several successful surveys, meetings and intercessory prayers, the venue was identified at the City Cabanas Fountain Hall. The first service was conducted on 4 July 2010, with an initial congregation of 80 people who were drawn from the various house groups around the area, residents within the estate and members from PBC Westlands.

Since then this burden and vision has been carried along with the support of the various church ministries including the Pastors and Deacons Board, Board of Trustees, Youth Ministry, House Groups, Missions Department and the entire Church.

The Pastors and Deacons Board (PDB) gave direction and support for the successful launch of the church. Training on church foundation and planting was facilitated by both the Senior and Associate Pastors to prepare the group of 80 people as founder members of Parklands Baptist Church - Eastgate. The PDB pioneered the ministry work assisting to launch Bible studies, Sunday School and youth programs that continue to nurture believers for effective ministry work within the church.
